A redesigned beautiful home in Southern France

This beautiful residence, built back in the 80's was completely redesigned by Marie-Laure Helmkampf of Ml-h design. Although I prefer white and bright colors for my living space, I must admit that the black and yellow colors used in this home, in combination with wooden furniture, create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Some cushions with geometrical designs add a note of modernity. And I think the idea of having the master bedroom in an open space with the bathroom is great. And the garden looks so nice with all these trees. Perfect for any sunny day! Enjoy the gallery.

Christmas inspiration

I'm planning to decorate my home for Christams next weekend, so these days I'm searching through the net for new ideas and objects, like the ones I want to show you today. Get inspired and get ready for Christmas on time!

These beautiful wreaths in sweet earthy tones are from www.anthropologie.eu and would fit perfectly in my home which is mainly based in white and some grey tones. Especially the one  made from fluffy pon pons.

These art works are painted with watercolors on fine paper and I found them in the etsy shop of ccwatercolors by the artist Cynthia Chapman
I think they would look so lovely in my white Christmas tree.

I found these cute handmade ornaments in another etsy shop, which is called FairyFolk

These heart shaped ornaments are handmade by the owner of the Gudzy etsy shop and would look great as table decoration in a festive dinner.

If you are good in knitting try to make these lovely snowflakes. Otherwise you can find them in etsy shop of eljuks

If you like to decorate your home with bright colors, see these gorgeous origami ornaments and Christmas balls made of wool by the team called My Lucky Star
You can find them here:https://www.facebook.com/MyLuckyStar1?ref=ts&fref=ts

How beautiful are these faces of Santa painted on tree boles! I will try to make them and if succed I'll show them next days.

Christmas is coming...

Although I'm not a winter type of person, I like very much Christmas time, with all seasonal decoration, lights in the streets, meeting friends and all the festive mood. So I' m starting posting early about this special period of time with some simple and DIY ideas about a non conventional Christmas tree.

If you have a blank wall you can just paint the shape of a tree and hang from the wall several ornaments like in this very elegant black and white tree.

Or you can just hang from the wall cups, glasses and other kitchen objects, creating the shape of a tree and just add on the top a traditional star

This idea is so simple and stylish: just create a tree from stars like this one.

If you have a blank wall you can paint it with chalkboard and let your children draw their tree and write their seasonal wishes.

My husband is very good in creating handmade objects so I'm asking him to make such a wooden tree and decorate it with lights and heart shaped ornaments. I just love it!

For this lovely tree you only need some wooden sticks with different lenghts that you can find easily everywhere, even in a city. Just add lights and colorful ornaments and you'll have such a great result.

This tree represents what it means White Christmas. So cute!

This is such a clever decoration idea, suitable for every one, even the most lazy: just use a clothes hanger from which you can hang either ornaments or the gifts for your friends and family .

If you don't want to paint a wall, you can just stick on it a simple tape shaped as a tree and hang beautiful stars from paper. You can of course make the stars on your own in various colors and write numbers or wishes on them.

This last tree is my favorite, all made of wooden pieces and decorated with white ornaments. May be this one is a little bit more difficult to make!

Get some more inspirational ideas but remember to use your imagination to create your unique Christmas decoration for your home.

So cute and simple: create a star out of buttons, either all of the same color or even use various colors to make it more bright and  joyful

With your gifts give a self made Greeting card like this one. You only have to make holes on a hard piece of paper and create the shape of a tree with a colorful ribbon

A ladder can always serve as an alternative Christmas tree, like this one below.

And finally...let's all make the same wish!

Have a nice weekend friends!

A gorgeous loft in Barcelona

After a rather busy and tough week it's finally Friday and I'm looking forward to a relaxing and cheerful weekend with my family. If I was living in a big loft, as this one in Barcelona, I think I would have a party or dinner with lots of people, every Saturday night. This beautiful home used to be a textile factory and now it's converted into a spacious and lovely loft in which are combined contemporary pieces of furniture with some modern items. The high ceilings with the white painted beams and the floor mirror, make the space look even bigger and the wide windows let the natural light come in and make this home airy and bright. I love the placement of art pieces on the console and the bookcase instead of hanging them on the walls. A great home to spend with many friends. Don't you agree?
