Old becomes new in a barn at Yorkshire
Today I'm in a grey mood so I decided to share with you this 16th century barn in Yorkshire of United Kingdom, which was renovated by Snook Architects. The high ceilings are decorated with wooden beams and the stone fireplace is used in a clever way as a divider of the living room from the dining room. The wooden dining table with simple lines is accompanied by the famous Eames chairs. The two red stools in the kitchen are breaking the grey tones of the rest of this home. I like very much the grey sofas and the rug. A modern, simple yet very stylish result. Enjoy the gallery.

A small and cosy cabin in Sweden
After the weekend I spent on a wonderfull and picturesque village on a mountain, I'm in a completely winter mood despite the sunny weather today. So I was looking for mountain homes when I found this beautiful , simple and romantic cabin which belongs to Tobias Dahl and the artist Emma Netterberg. This lovely home is located in Dalama , a county in Sweden which is well known for its horses and is overlooking to the lake Sijan and the Dala forests.
The owners have decorate this lovely home with warm earthy tones but they have also added some ethnic touches like the wonderful oriental tiles in the bathroom. I love the big sofa which looks very comfy and inviting. I would definetely like to spend some snowy days in this cabin! Wouldn't you?

A beautiful Swedish apartment in black and white
Hello friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend just like me! I was out of town for 3 days and I must say that this small break was very relaxing and refreshing. I 'd like to start the new week with this gorgeous apartment in Sweden that is decorated with black and white and lots of ethnic touches that give a casual and unique character. I like so much the black ethnic lantern in the bedroom, as well as the white cabinet beside the black ladder that is also used as a bookcase. Another ethnic touch gives the low metal silver tray that is used as a side table and the oriental pouf. In the big white wooden dining table the owner used a black bench and 3 Tolix chairs.

A dream hotel in New York
Today I'm having a mind journey to New York and a gorgeous hotel penthouse in Tribeca, a neighborhood at the lower Manhattan area. The Greenwich Hotel assigned to Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt and Japanese architect Tatsuro Miki, to design in close collaboration with the hotel’s partners Ira Drukier and Robert De Niro, a penthouse of 6,800 sq ft suite that was inspired by the TriBeCa neighborhood’s industrial past fused with the ancient Japanese aesthetic of Wabi:beauty found in imperfection and authenticity;artempo – where time becomes art; and poor materials that are rich in spirit.Materials like stone, steel and reclaimed wood were carefully selected and thoughtfully utilized in every area of the penthouse.

As Axel Vervoordt said
We wanted to express a TriBeCa character in the most humble way. Because the architecture is so simple, it belongs as much to the past as to the future.
The Penthouse offers a large open floorplan with multi-purpose living spaces, including a separate living room and drawing room, a full sized chef’s kitchen, three fireplaces, two and half bathrooms and three bedrooms. The private outdoor gardens on two levels span over 4,000 sq ft and feature a spa pool and dining for 18 guests. The result is a space that serves as a sanctuary and paradise for those who seek a unique travelling experience. Enjoy the gallery and dream of being there!Source: http://www.thegreenwichhotel.com/

London calling
Today is another typical autumn day with clouds and light rain, which reminds me very much of London weather. So I decided to share with you the beautiful home of a British stylist, decorated with very carefully selected vintage items from flea markets, as well as with several other modern pieces. I think this is another dream home for me! I like very much the use of purple color in the curtains and the well known Thonet chairs used in so many coffee shops. I also find great the use of blue color on the stairs which is exactly the same tone of blue with the sofa. Instead of having a usual coffee table, the owner has replaced it by a camp bench found in an antique market. She has also kept the first original tiles of the hallway which are simply wonderful. In the house's terrace she has created a small oasis and I find very clever the idea of having a tree stump as a side table. Enjoy the photos and find some similar pieces so that you can also create the look.
